General Surgeon

Nick is a General Surgeon trained in the Newcastle and Hunter region. He has undergone further training in Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary surgery with interests in both benign and malignant disease. He is GESA accredited for ERCP, gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

He completed undergraduate medicine at the University of NSW. He has a postgraduate master’s in surgical outcomes from the University of Sydney. After concluding surgical training in Newcastle he undertook 4 years of sub-specialty fellowship training in the Gold Coast, Newcastle and Melbourne. This included completion of the AANZHPBA program for liver and pancreas surgery and he was awarded the prestigious Padbury trophy for placing first in the final examination.

Nick has a strong interest in clinical research and teaching. He has published articles and presented research in national and international forums. He is a conjoint senior lecturer in surgery at the University of Newcastle.

He is happily settled in Newcastle with his wife and baby. He enjoys playing sport, spending time at the beach and catching up with family and friends.

He is employed as a consultant Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary surgeon at John Hunter Hospital and operates privately through Lake Macquarie and Newcastle Private Hospitals. 

Patient referrals (private) should be directed to Level 2 suite 1, Lake Macquarie Specialist Centre, 8 Sydney St, Gateshead NSW 2290. He also offers outpatient clinics at John Hunter Hospital through the surgical outpatient services.
